Tracie and I are truly grateful that you have chosen to be a part of this great event. All my life people have reached out and provided me with faith, love & direction. It is now my turn to try make the same impact on kids in our community. Tracie and I have been involved in different charities and foundations for a number of years now. With the Football Camp we run, we have been able to make our own dreams come true, as well as hope for others. We have been extremely blessed and fortunate that we can be involved with making our community stronger. Tracie and I are involved with a number of charities which include: Locks of Love, Friends of CARRA, The Coach Kill Cancer Fund & The PJ FLECK Scholarship Fund. Also includes numerous small foundations throughout the year.

While playing in the NFL was truly a dream come true, the greatest dream is being fortunate enough to provide our youth with Dreams of their own. Tracie and I believe that is the main reason we were blessed with the opportunity in the first place.

ABOUT OUR CHARITIES

FRIENDS OF CARRA: Tracie and I met Christiana Powery when we were visiting University of Stanford Hospital. In February of 2005, her family started seeing complications in the way she did her daily activities. Minor things such as hanging the towel on the rack became difficult for her. Christiana was hospitalized in the first few weeks of September of 2005. They pronounced that she had Juvenille Dermatomyositis (JDMS), an auto immune disease that slowly killed away every muscle and system in her body. Her passion and outlook on life was inspiring to us, and her fight for life was even greater! We made weekly visits to spend time with Christiana. We quickly became close pals. Christiana passed on December 14, 2005. She was only 10.

LOCKS OF LOVE: My niece Sydney Peterson was diagnosed with Alopecia back in 2005. This is a disease that causes permanent hair-loss in children, as well as adults. Sometimes the hair grows back in patches and sometimes it is gone for good. Though, not life threatening, we all know how cruel kids can be when others don't look like the “norm”. The organization provides authentic looking wigs to kids and adults with Alopecia , cancer patients & burn victims.
